Hi mamas! Happy Tuesday! I know its not a Monday, but yesterday was INSANE for me, so we're posting today!
Everyone, meet Shay-Yana! A mama who got pregnant pretty young and worked her ass off to give her boys the best life possible.

"Hello world! My name is Shay-Yana. I’m 33 from Youngstown, OH and a mama of two handsome boys. I became a mother in 2004, when I was 18 years old. It seems like yesterday their father and I were on our way to the movies, unable to focus on the film because we were too shocked by the news. The boys father and I were definitely not ready to be parents, and I remember feeling scared and ashamed. At the time, my family also relocated. Switching schools was sad for me, but I also felt relieve and free from judgement. I hid my pregnancy from my mother and sister for a couple months. When my mom found out she was sad that I wasn’t honest with her.
I continued to go to school and graduated with my diploma despite my big belly. A week later I gave birth to a 9 pound, healthy, baby boy. Soon after that, we moved into our first home as a young family, where we struggled, but managed. My children’s father worked full time and I worked part time at Taco Bell.
When I turned 21, we welcomed our second healthy, 8 pound son. Our hearts were full, but it wasn’t easy trying to provide for two children. I kept thinking about the future. Eventually, I grew tired of working in customer service and telemarketing. That’s when I decided to enroll in school.
I graduated with my first degree in 2009, and my second in 2015. I’ve been steadily employed in the medical field ever since. My children are so proud of their mama! I just want to encourage them to work hard an follow their dreams. With hard work and dedication, you can achieve anything. My children are now 14 and 11. We are currently enjoying life and making memories to last a lifetime. I am so blessed to be their mama!"

1. What is your favorite thing about being a mama?
My favorite thing about being a mama is watching my children grow up and go through different stages. They are so talented and smart. They’ve even taught their mama a few things!
2. What surprised you most about being a mama?
What surprised me most is how fast time flies. Other mamas always say cherish the time you have now, because before you know it they will be all grown up. I guess that’s why I take so many pictures. Now that the boys are older, its like pulling teeth trying to get us all in one photo!
3. What is the most difficult thing about being a mama?
The most difficult thing about being a mama is not being able to solve all of the children’s problems. Sometimes you have to be firm and allow them to learn from their mistakes. But, I will always be here to guide them along the way.
4. Best advice you’ve ever gotten as a mama?
The best advice I’ve ever gotten was from my own mama. She told me to always tell my children that I love them, encourage the, and uplift them. They will always remember that.
5. Favorite mama products?
My Swiffer Wet Jet for quick, easy clean-up, and vinegar. I pour just a little white vinegar in the laundry to get rid of odors. When you’re raising boys, you know things can get stinky!
6. Favorite mom hack?
Leftovers. It gets busy with work, school, and extracurricular activities. It’s definitely okay to make enough dinner to eat for two days!
So if any of you mamas want more information, advice, or have any questions about preserving and kicking big-time butt as a young mama, you can find Shay-Yana on Facebook or Instagram! And, per usual, you can contact me through the Find Me tab at the top of the page!
