Hi! Welcome to the first feature in our Mama Monday series! I am so excited to introduce you to these mamas who have so graciously allowed us a small view into their lives. So without further adieu, let me introduce you to our first mama - ALAINA!

Alaina & her 3 bun boys!

Alaina is what I like to call, "Supermom". She is a SAHM to these three buns, with another on the way, helps manage an amazing Facebook Mom group (Mommy Masterminds), has a successful side hustle(The Trunk Show), and does all of this with a husband who is sometimes gone for days at a time. She. Does. It. All. She is a lovely, kind, hilarious lady who is always quick to help anyone and has given me(and other mamas), invaluable advice about motherhood, wife life, and just being a good human.

"I have been married to my husband, Lee, for almost 7 years. We will never claim to have a perfect marriage, but we love each other a whole heckin' lot. Because we love each other so much, we managed to have 3 sons in 3.5 years and are expecting our 4th - and most likely final - child in April 2019. Lee says final, I say we'll see! When I'm not killing it at being a SAHM (cooking/cleaning/hiding in my closet in an attempt to have an uninterrupted telephone conversation), I enjoy reading, watching trashy TV, running a social media boutique with my friend Marisa, sewing, crafting on my Cricut, shopping with my mom and sisters, and helping out at my in-law's brewery. I also enjoy complaining to my husband about how I “literally don't stop” even though that is 100% my own fault."

1. What is your favorite thing about being a mama?

I'm rephrasing this question to “What do you love most about being a mama?” and I have a million answers: I love that moment where you meet your brand new baby for the first time. I'm addicted to that feeling and can't wait to do it again in April. I love the way they look when they're being sung to on their birthdays. I love the way they take care of each other. I love the way they love me. I love how genuine and honest they are, without fault. I love that I get the opportunity to be a part of their amazing lives.

2. What surprised you most about being a mama?

I know this will sound totally cliche, but I am truly surprised at just how much I love them. People tell you and you think know how intense it's going to be, but nobody truly has the right words to describe it. You just have to feel it for yourself.

3. What is the most difficult thing about being a mama?

Not driving my minivan into a lake when everyone is crying at the same time. JK! JK!

Probably balancing their needs with my husband's needs and trying to fit my needs in somewhere, too. I definitely come last. And that's okay, usually. Sometimes it catches up with me and makes me feel burned out. When I recognize this is happening, I will try to take action and go for a massage or facial, pay someone to come clean for a few hours, or leave the kids at home with Dad and go have margaritas with my sisters. This is important in keeping me a happy, balanced mama.

4. The best advice you’ve ever gotten as a mama?

To take control of my mental health and never feel guilty about it because doing so will help me be the best mom I can be. I suffered postpartum anxiety and postpartum OCD after all of my sons’ births. I fought through it after the birth of my first son and tried seeing a therapist, but it wasn't enough. By the time my second son was born, I was 3 days PP and couldn't stop crying on the kitchen floor while wearing my husband's stinky robe - pretty much ignoring my new baby. My husband called my doctor and told him to “call something in or come get her” and I've been in a healthy, loving relationship with Zoloft ever since.

5. Favorite mama products?

Anything eucalyptus spearmint scent from Bath & Body Works, the Relax Melodies app on my phone, and my most favorite thing ever - IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara!

6. Favorite bun products?

My babes have sensitive skin and I've recently started dabbling in goat's milk soap making. I love a good homemade soap, whether it's made by me or someone else. Aside from that, I always have a tub of Aquaphor on hand for random dryness (including my own lips), Pinxav for diaper rashes, and Shout laundry spray for skid marked undies and muddy play clothes!

7. What is your favorite mama Hack?

Keeping a baby potty in my van! When I potty trained my first two, I actually joked (but not really joking) that I was going to write a coffee table book called 'Oh The Places I've Pooped' and photo document all of the disgusting public restrooms in which my kids have insisted on pooping. With Charlie, I wisened up and this is my favorite hack ever!
